Fishing Lucky Dip

• small blow up pool,large tub or bucket (fish pond)
• wrapped up treasures / prizes (these are your fish)
• ribbon to make loops on the fish
• a rod with a wire hanger bent and attached at one end (a ruler or cardboard cylinder can work just as well)

1. This game is a fun combination of fishing games and lucky dip.
2. Wrap enough prizes (fish) so that there is enough for each child (a few spares are always handy).
3. Tie a length of ribbon around each prize tightly and leave a loop that can be hooked by the fishing rod. The size of the loop will depend on the age group of the children - a larger loop for younger children and a smaller loop for the older ones.
4. Have the children form a line behind your 'fish pond' with the birthday child at the front. One at a time, the children go fishing for one fish each.

• paper clips can be attached to the 'fish' if you would like to use a magnet fishing rod.
• cut out fish shapes with a number on the can be used and then the child finds the prize with that number one it.
• blindfolding the children increases the difficulty level
